Content Strategy
It's not enough to just say something, write something, tell people that you have a product or service once a while, here and there. That only creates noise and lukewarm interest.
IF YOU REALLY WANT TO MAKE AN IMPACT YOU HAVE TO BE AUTHENTIC AND CONNECT WITH YOUR AUDIENCE in a holistic and consistent way. YOU HAVE TO EMBODY YOUR READERS, be where they are, AND SPEAK TO THE CORE OF THEIR BEING.
Real businesses have real content strategies. What is that?
A Content Strategy is a thorough plan of exactly how you are going to use content to grow your business, including goals or objectives for each communication channel, timelines and frequencies for posts, examples in tone and style, ways of using different forms of media, outlines of who’s doing what, potential content relationships with influencers, any relevant resources or content tools, and other details specific to the use of content in your business.
In many ways this is similar to what might come to mind as a “marketing strategy” except a marketing strategy would include additional elements that may not be exclusively content-related. Depending on the scope of your business, I can help you understand the difference and offer guidance in overall marketing as well.
Why do you need a content strategy?
If you just put up a blog post once in a while and share it on your Facebook page you’re just not going to attract enough of an audience to really make an impact. Even if you create the BEST BLOG POST EVER but don’t leverage it in a way that maximizes its visibility or positions your products in a favorable and integrated way then you’re missing opportunities. You're also likely struggling and confused about why you’re not seeing results, and that's not fun.
If you’re really ready to grow your business, let me help! This is what I do. It’s a highly worthwhile investment and I’m not just saying that. THIS is how you can take your business to the next level. Once you have a solid strategy in place, you can take it from there to drive the ship in terms of creating posts that will be consistent, awesome, and actually serve their purpose in your business!
I SUBSCRIBE TO A NEW WAVE OF MARKETING STRATEGY, ONE THAT HAS HEART AND INTEGRITY.
Content strategy creation is perfect for new entrepreneurs or small businesses who are mostly clear on what they’re all about and are now ready to start communicating their message in a bigger way (but don’t exactly know how).
Here’s how this works: we’ll start with getting to know each other through a clarity and branding session and your telling me everything about your business – be warned that I will probe you on details and nudge you into answering important questions you may not fully have answers to yet but which will greatly help you find clarity within yourself.
Then I will create a detailed content strategy for you. WHOOP! Here it is, served on a platter.
From there you can begin to execute on the content plan completely on your own if you like, or – because you’ll be so impressed with my thoughtful planning skills – you can choose to continue working with me to support you in getting some of that content created. We’ll just need to communicate to take it from here based on your individual needs.
Here’s some of what will be included in your content strategy:
- A clear overall content objective
- Purpose and goals for individual content channels
- Breakdown by channel including:
- All relevant social media platforms
- Email/newsletter
- Blog
- Private access/course if applicable
- Web pages
- Examples of posts for each section
- Timeline and post frequency recommendations
- Tone, voice, and approach for each channel
- Suggestions for helpful tools for things like graphics or stock images
And more, depending on your biz. Not bad, right?
Wait, you want even more? Sheesh, ok I'll sprinkle in some of this:
- Creative planning
- Art direction
- Suggestions for web design updates
- A focus on YOU, what you really want, and what you can reasonably handle
- Love and support up the wazoo because I want you to succeed
Let's tell your story in a way that inspires others to believe in your mission, benefit from your products, or internalize your brand.
I’m ready, are you?
